Facilitators Tom Burgess Tom has been involved in the field of Holistic Health Care for over 18 years. He has trained and practiced in the UK, Australia and New Zealand. His approach is simple, smart and effective. By paying close attention to the fundamental principles of Health and Well-Being we able to isolate and correct the very cause of specific health issues and make real improvements to general Well-Being. By working with the 'cause' of the problem, rather than trying to cancel out the symptoms, we have helped hundreds of people to get well and feel great, where conventional medicine have seem to have no answers. Ashstar Wellness Programs consider the complete picture - diet, posture, lifestyle, medical history, stress and most importantly the Mind-Body-Spirit connection. Our ongoing plans we put together for our clients are realistic enough to stick to and results in a long term state of "Well Being". Tom's special interests are Kinesiology, Neural Organization, Bio Feedback and Nutrition. The Mind-Body-Spirit Harmonics Program has evolved over the last 20 years. We believe it to be a major step forward to the way people view themselves in relation to all areas of their life, be it Physical Health or Spiritual Well-Being. We are beginning to understand the 'Medical Model' is to a large extent build on the non-sensical idea that germs/bacteria and viruses are 100% to blame for the poor health of society; forgetting completely its the Immune System that is the determining factor in whether we get sick or not. We are now in the position where its up to us to 'get up to speed' on our general Health Care requirements. I'm sure there will come a day when our 'Medical Friends' take their attention off ' profits generation' and switch their focus to the Well-Being of the patient they have taken an oath to help and protect - "First do no harm" ..........hmm hmm (just a minute while I step down from my 'soap box') Feel free to e-mail Tom if you'd like to find out more about the theory, application and benefits of these Health Sciences, or if you have specific questions. We emphasize the importance of basic structural alignment of poses (asana) and the Attitude of Non Striving, thus avoiding unnecessary injury. The practice of Yoga is meant to inspire and uplift, not traumatize....!!! 5 pm - Restorative YOGA and Meditation (dhyana) Meditation is a state of Being (non-doing).
